GHANA Robert Van Den Hoven, October 9, 2026October 9, 2026 Ghana: A Journey Through History After exploring the beauty and culture of Togo, our journey continued as we crossed into Ghana, ready to discover another chapter of West Africa. We were welcomed by the warm sunshine, lively streets, colourful markets, and the friendly smiles of the Ghanaian people. There was so much to experience, but one of the most meaningful parts of our journey was still ahead. Our visit to Cape Coast took us beyond beautiful scenery and into a deeply moving chapter of history. Standing before Cape Coast Castle, we were reminded of the painful history of the transatlantic slave trade. Within these walls, countless African men, women, and children were imprisoned, separated from their loved ones, and forced onto ships bound for the Americas and the Caribbean, often never to see their homeland again. Walking through the castle’s dark dungeons and standing before the infamous Door of No Return was an emotional experience. It was a sobering reminder of the suffering, injustice, and lives lost during one of humanity’s darkest periods. Yet, it was also a moment to reflect on the strength, resilience, and enduring spirit of African people. Ghana was more than a travel destination; it was a journey through culture, heritage, and history. From the warmth of its people to the powerful lessons of Cape Coast, this experience left us with memories that will stay with us forever. As they say; Some journeys are about seeing new places, while others touch your heart and change the way you see the world. https://www.doubledutchworldsafari.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/GHANA-LOW-RES-.mp4 Latest Update
