Canada/USA Border to Michigan: Following the Shores of Lake Superior Robert Van Den Hoven, July 24, 2026July 24, 2026 Our journey into the United States began at the Warroad border crossing from Canada, setting us off on an unforgettable road trip through northern Minnesota and into Michigan. Travelling via International Falls, Duluth, and Grand Marais before crossing the magnificent Mackinac Bridge into Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, we explored some of the most scenic stretches of the Great Lakes region. Unfortunately, widespread bushfires on the Canadian side of the border created a thick haze that followed us for much of the trip, significantly reducing visibility and hiding many of the spectacular views we had hoped to enjoy. Because of this, some of the photos included in this blog are not our own but have been used to better showcase the landscapes and landmarks as they normally appear. Despite the smoky conditions, it was still an incredible journey filled with memorable stops, beautiful drives, and plenty of adventures along the way. Latest Update
