Top of the World Highway in Alaska to Tuktoyaktuk and South to the USA Border Robert Van Den Hoven, October 15, 2026October 15, 2026 From Chicken, Alaska, we travel the spectacular Top of the World Highway into Canada’s Yukon, to historic Dawson City, heart of the Klondike Gold Rush. From there, we head north along the legendary Dempster Highway, through rugged mountains, vast tundra and across the Arctic Circle to Inuvik. Finally, the road leads us to Tuktoyaktuk, on the shores of the Arctic Ocean. After travelling an incredible 650,000 kilometres around the world, we’re entering the final leg of our extraordinary overland adventure! But don’t be fooled into thinking the adventure is over just yet — there are still thousands of kilometres to travel, unforgettable places to discover, and a few surprises waiting for us along the way! Our Canadian adventure has taken us to the very edge of the Arctic Ocean at Tuktoyaktuk, through vast and remote wilderness, and even into a dramatic midnight escape following a tornado warning! And just when we thought Mother Nature had shown us everything, we were treated to one last magical display of the Northern Lights. Now, it’s time to turn south and east as we make our way towards our final stop in Canada, before heading across the border to Baltimore, USA, where our trusty vehicle will be shipped home to Australia. The finish line is getting closer. https://www.doubledutchworldsafari.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/NW-Canada-ALASKA-border-to-USA-border-LOW-RES.mp4 Latest Update
