Mozambicans are friendly people and very welcoming, like in any other country as visitors we must learn at least a few words in their language, understand their culture and customs.

Unfortunately, Mozambique is a highly indebted, poverty-stricken country. This combined with armed conflict, armed groups burning villages, human rights violations, corruption, and poorly maintained roads away from the main coastal highway.

However, the generous and easy-going lifestyle make up for the above.

Overlanding Mozambique will allow you to explore Remote Palm Fringed white sandy beaches, join locals to travel to lush tropical remote islands with unspoiled beaches. But Mozambique has more than some of the best beaches in the world. Inland Mozambique with many of the beaten track destinations like Bahine National Park in the centre, Lago Niassa (east side of Lake Malawi) Mozambique Island a UNESCO world heritage site where walking around town you think you are going back in time, Quirimbas Archipelago, Bazaruto Archipelago, Trans Frontier National Park, Gorongosa National Park looking for lions who start to return to the area.

Unfortunately, during our last trip to Mozambique, we had to leave the country due to armed conflict, burning villages, and bombings by Renamo, in the Gorongosa area. We were escorted out of Central Mozambique, in convoy by the Mozambique army, and Police, to the border with Zimbabwe.
